New Post: mount webdav URL under linux

Hi,

I would like to know if someone have successfully mounted the webdav URLs from DumpUrls.exe under linux.

I've tried to mount one with nautilus and through davfs without success:

- nautilus send me a mystic error "ERROR HTTP: Found"

- davfs: /sbin/mount.davfs: Mounting failed.
302 Found

If someone can help...

Would there be a chance that something could be made for connecting a Symbian WebDAV client (native app on Nokia s60v3). I realise it's a long shot also given the discontinuation of Symbian and the authentication issue, but hey...gotta ask!

I am not familiar with the coding that has been used to create this project. I was trying to read through it to determine if the username and password were being passed to the authenticator encrypted or in the clear. I was not able to spot a smoking gun... can anyone more familiar with the syntax tell me if they are able to spot something that lets them know how secure the authentication process is for this app? Also, is there a point at which the app overwrites the memory variables once it has completed its processing or are they left provisioned and potentially recoverable by malware?

who is "each user" ?

user in my script is specified :
set SkyDriveLogin=login@domain.com
set SkyDrivePassword=password

and CID is taken by tool DumpUrls.exe

Thx for this great program :-). With this, finding the skydrive location is piece of cake :-).

I use it to map a drive letter so I can browse the Skydrive from my Windows explorer.

The program works perfect. Though when I try to map the drive letter Windows keeps asking for credentials so I cannot map it.

I searched on the internet and other people seems to have same issue. Has anyone found a solution for this or why this is happening?

By the way: I'm very sure that my credentials are correct =-)

I was not the original author of the code, I fixed a bug that made it not work with my live Id.

go ahead and add to the project.

Note, one thing we recognized is the project has many of the build output files in it. these should be removed. if you want to do that go for it.

I was thinking to publish my porting on WP7 of your project on codeplex in future. Of course it would be explained that the original work is your and is just a porting. It could be useful to other developers... it seems to me that no code for WP7 + SkyDrive is available so far...

I have a folder which is synced between my personal laptop and desktop (both Win 7) via my SkyDrive, which I'd also like to be able to access via my work PC (Win XP). The SkyDrive Simple Viewer find my 'Documents' folder on the SkyDrive, but I don't use this part of the SkyDrive - my folder is in the 'Synced Folders' section. This screenshot might make my situation clear:

Office's file is uploaded to SkyDrive "My documents" folder in my account and then opened in WebApps Office. After close its saved back to original location.

Yes good question. I'm interesting too!

Atually if you use mapped drive you can work with it like with other flsers and even i tested it wth sync framework filesync scenarios but after 1-2 syncs i can't enter the drive.

Does anyone know how to solve it? I doesn't use any thirdparty code. Just System.IO and Microsoft.Syncronization.

Error still happened without using sync fx.

My Windows Live account is also associated with an Office Live account, and using SkyDrive Simple Viewer returns my Office Live folder locations, rather than my "root-level" Skydrive folders. Ideally, this tool would provide the latter, or perhaps all of the above. However, if I had to narrow down my request, what I'd most like to do today is have URLs for mapping Windows Explorer to my SkyDrive Photos folder.

I had to use quotation marks to get dumpurls.exe to work.

For example:

c:\> dumpurls noname@gmail.com ghwiskd*$

returned the following:

More?

Error: Wrong user name or password!

The following format returned the paths to mount:

c:\> dumpurls "noname@gmail.com" "ghwiskd*$"

I do not know if it is due to shift characters *$ at end to password or this is the format required. Wasn't clear from download page.

Well I can’t get SkyDrive Simple Viewer to run. System is XP with SP3 plus latest update, .Net 3.5 Sp1 and firewall switched off.

Running dumpurls.exe alone at the DOS prompt yields

“Please run command with Windows Live ID username and password”

Syntax: dumpurls.exe ”<username> <password>"

OK, tried that. Response:

“Wrong username or password!
‘xxxxxxxx’ is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.”

In my password the “xxxxxxxx” is the truncated part of my password following an “&”.

Another try was to include the username and password in “<>” which produced:

“< was unexpected at this time."

I immediately logged on to Windows Live manually using the same username and password as used above with no problem.
Each of the above unsuccessful attempts was tried a number of times.

Would appreciate any help or suggestions.
